I took a walk along Chicago’s lakefront before dawn to get some shots of the ice. This HDR picture captures the sun and frozen conditions just north of Oak Street beach. The approximate temperature was -4 degrees Fahrenheit.
On the eve of the eve, I captured the Bean as it started to snow. It was a cold and icy night.
The sun shines through the trees and highlights the fall leaves and headstones at Graceland Cemetery, a very serene location for a Sunday afternoon walk in the fall.
The clouds and sunset were perfect tonight, despite the chill and strong winds.
A blend of night and day exposures, giving the effect of a “portal”.
This is a long-exposure of the Chicago Bean, with the camera setup on a tripod and a picture taken at night. The same scene from the same location was taken during the day, and the image of the Bean was composed into the night picture.
